Have lots of flowers, and a lot of very large leaves, but no sign of a pumpkin yet.Am I supposed to removed it from its vine in order for it to turn its orange color or wait longer?Do not soak the soil each day.Sometimes I didn't think that was enough, and manually watered until the ground was puddling.Poor pollination causes blossom drop.Ideally, ripen in a well-ventilated barn or greenhouse at temps of 80 to 85 degrees F with a relative humidity of 80-85.It slowly turned yellow and fell off and now all mushy.And what happens to the pumpkins in the field yet?It isn't broken all of the way through.(See above article.) Leave plenty of stem on the pumpkin (3 to 4 inches if you can, and avoid any damage (bruises or cuts) to the rind.Its just too late in seasonnot enough sunlight/day length and heat, primarily.I know how to get it pollinated.I've had excellent luck in the past with Connecticut Field pumpkins but I grew them in my raised bed garden.
